Tashi Yoga Photos

When Tashi asked me to do a "mud" yoga photography shoot, I was jumping up and down with excitement.

Many of you may or may not know, I have been practicing yoga for the past six years and received my 200 hour teacher training in 2019. Knowing these poses, movements and practices have helped me with yoga photography and finding the light in these situations.

We picked the washout on Folly Beach at sunset for this shoot. Tashi wanted to showcase her imperfections and show how we do not need to be instagram standards to practice yoga. We are all different and many times yogis are shown as a certain way online, which is just not realistic.

At the end of the beach there is a huge mash with some pools of water where we were able to cover her in mud and easily wash it off. I exclusively shoot during golden hour, which is sunrise or sunset, which is how I achieve this beautiful glow in my images.

One set as I saw these images come up on the screen I said..... THIS IS ART. We are all art when we show up as we are fully and unapologetic. My dream is that everyone is able to find these version of the true self.

Shine one!
