Tyler & Kay

There's something truly special about taking photos outdoors, especially when it comes to couples' photography. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Tyler & Kay in the Pisgah, and it was an experience I won't soon forget.

Nature has always been a source of inspiration for me, and I find that it brings out the best in my subjects as well. There's something about being surrounded by the beauty of the natural world that helps people feel more at ease, more connected, and more open to new experiences.

When this couple arrived for their photoshoot, I could feel their excitement and enthusiasm for the process. They were ready to embrace the adventure, to explore the woods with me, and to create something truly unique and special

As we hiked deeper into the woods, I could feel the energy shift. The trees towered above us, their branches reaching out like welcoming arms. The sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting a warm and gentle glow over everything around us.

We set up our first shot in a clearing, with the couple nestled amongst the trees and a babbling stream. They held each other close, their eyes locked in a deep and loving gaze. I could see the connection between them, the way they truly saw and appreciated each other.

As we moved deeper into the woods, we found new locations to shoot, each one more breathtaking than the last. The couple was willing to try new things, to climb up onto rocks or wade through streams, all in the name of capturing the perfect shot.

Tyler originally had reached out to me asking for a couple's photo shoot, for his partner Kays birthday. His love and admiration for her was evident from the moment we spoke, and I knew that this was going to be a unique and heartwarming project.

Kay was dressed in a beautiful flowing white dress, and Tyler had made sure to match his outfit perfectly with hers as we had consulted on our vision call. As we began taking photos, I could feel the love and affection between them radiating through my lens. Tyler's gaze towards Kay was filled with admiration, and Kay's eyes sparkled with happiness and love.

I could see that Tyler's desire to capture Kay's beauty was not just about her physical appearance, but also her inner beauty and spirit. The way he looked at her and held her showed how much he valued her as a person, and how much he cherished their relationship.

Throughout the shoot, I felt a sense of gratitude wash over me. I was grateful for this couple, for their willingness to trust me and to explore with me. Tyler had expressed he wanted me to capture them with my own artful vision: some of my favorite types of shoots. I was grateful for the woods, for its beauty and its wisdom. And I was grateful for the process of creating art, of capturing moments of beauty and connection that will last a lifetime.

In the end, the photos we captured were truly magical. They captured the essence of the couple's love, the beauty of mother nature and the power of woods & elements to inspire and connect us all. And I left the shoot feeling inspired, energized, and deeply grateful for the opportunity to do what I love, with people who are willing to go on this adventure with me.
